Biography

An Pan is an associate professor and a principal investigator at Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China, and the head of Pioneering Interdiscipline Center (PIC), State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonics (www.piclaboratory.com). Pan received his B.E. degree in Electronic Science and Technology from Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST), China in 2014. And he obtained his Ph.D. in optical Engineering at XIOPM, CAS, China in 2020. Meanwhile, Pan was a visiting graduate at Bar-Ilan University, Israel in 2016 and California Institute of Technology (Caltech), USA from 2018 to 2019, respectively.

An Pan focuses on the computational optical imaging and biophotonics area and is among the first to work on Fourier ptychography. He is selected as the 2024 Optica Ambassador and is the winner of the 2021 Forbes China 30 Under 30 List, 2021 Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of CAS, 2020 Special President Award of CAS, 2019 OSA Boris P. Stoicheff Memorial Scholarship, the 1st Place Poster Award of the 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings in Germany (Lindau Scholar), and 2017 SPIE Optics & Photonics Education Scholarship. He has published 40 peer-reviewed journal papers and is a referee for more than 40 peer-reviewed journals. He is the early career member of Optica and SPIE.

潘安,中国科学院西安光学精密机械研究所瞬态光学与光子技术国家重点实验室前沿交叉研究中心主任,博士生导师2014年于南京理工大学取得学士学位,2020于中国科学院西安光机所取得博士学位。期间,2016年访学于以色列巴伊兰大学;2018年至2019年访学于美国加州理工学院。主要从事计算光学成像和生物光子学等基础研究,特别是在高通量傅里叶叠层成像技术及其仪器研制Reports on Progress in Physics, Optica表论文40余篇,包含一区6篇,二区20篇,一区Top期刊封面论文2篇,ESI高被引论文1篇,参加国内外会议并作口头/邀请报告20余次,谷歌学术引用近1000余次,H值为18,是领域内早期探索者和重要推动者。入选陕西省青年科技新星(2024)、Optica大使(2024)、中国科协青年人才托举工程(2023)、福布斯中国30岁30人榜单(2021)、中科院百人计划(2020、c类)等。曾荣获中国科学院百篇优秀博士学位论文(2021)、中国科学院院长特别奖(2020)、第69届德国林岛诺贝尔奖获得者大会最佳海报奖第一名(2019)OSA鲍里斯·斯托伊切夫纪念奖(2019)、SPIE光学与光子学教育奖(2017)等。主持中国科学院西部之光青年学者技术攻关项目、国家自然科学基金青年项目、陕西省重点研发计划参与XXXXXX高分辨率对地观测系统重大专项等。授权发明专利4项,成果转化80万元。指导学生获得“互联网+”北京赛区金奖(2023)、研究生国家奖学金(2021-2024)、"国科大杯"总决赛二等奖(2022)、全国光学与光学工程博士生学术联赛总决赛优秀奖(2022)。担任《The Innovation》、《激光与光子学进展》、《光子学报》青年编委,《Cells》专题编辑,《Photonics》特刊客座编辑,Optica和SPIE奖学金评审委员会委员(2025-),中华医学会陕西省医学会数字医学分会委员(2022-),中国图像图形学会(CSIG)视觉传感专业委员会委员(2021-),中国科学院西安光机所OSA&SPIE学生分会指导老师(2020-),OSASPIE职业生涯早期成员(2015-),Optica等40余本期刊的审稿人
重要贡献包括:
1、提出了基于特征域的全新重构框架和对应的全划片成像系统,相关工作实现研究所首篇第一单位Optica期刊封面论文突破,相关作者均为本土学者,相关系统已在重庆医科大学二附院开展临床白血病早期筛查应用;
2、提出了单通道快速全彩色数字病理成像方法,能为术中病理争分夺秒,相关工作实现研究所首篇Science China Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy期刊封面论文突破,入选2021年中国光学十大进展候选;
3、提出了半球形数字聚光镜这一核心器件,实现了在14.6平方毫米视场下244纳米空间分辨率的突破,能为微生物组学与大规模细胞交互研究提供了利器,相关工作荣获第69届德国林岛诺贝尔奖获得者大会最佳海报奖,是中国首位获得者,相关工作被OSA官网、中科院官网、PHYS.ORG、NEWSROOM of CAS等报道转载
4、在Reports on Progress in Physics期刊上发表论文,是研究所以第一单位发表的最高影响因子论文(IF:19)。
5、此外,创立了研究所Optica&SPIE学生分会,荣获2016年最佳学生分会提名奖,是亚洲首个获此殊荣的学生分会,促进了研究所学术氛围发展。

1) Nov. 2015-Aug. 2017, President and founder of OSA & SPIE Student Chapter at XIOPM (Advisor: Prof. Xuelong Li)

2) Apr. 27-29th, 2016, severing as the General Chair, he organized the National Doctoral Academic Forum on Optics & Photonics (XIOPM 2016) in Xi’an, China, which was supported by XIOPM and OSA.

3) Oct. 17-22nd, 2016, serving as the President of OSA Student Chapter, he attended the Student Leadership Conference & FIO Conference in Rochester, USA and won the 2016 Excellence Prize Finalist of OSA Student Chapter, which is the first time of Asian student chapter to win this prize so far.

4) Apr. 24-29th, 2017, severing as the General Chair, he organized the International OSA Network of Students (IONS Xi'an 2017) in Xi’an, China, which was jointly held by CAS, OSA, XIOPM and Najing University, undertaken by the OSA student chapter of XIOPM and Nanjing University and Shaanxi Institute of Advanced Optoelectronic Integrated Circuit Technologies, supported by SPIE, Acta Photonica Sinica and Acta Optica Sinica.

5) Dec. 21st, 2019, severing as the Session Chair, he hosted the Session 1 of the 11th National Photonics West, Xi’an, China.

6) Oct. 31st, 2020, severing as the Session Chair, he hosted the WLF Young Scientist Forum – Physics Session of the 3rd World Laureates Forum, Shanghai, China. 8 young scientists and 4 Nobel laureates, Prof. George Smoot III, Prof. Ignacio Cirac, Prof. Bertand Halperin, and Prof. Michael Berry, attended this forum in Shanghai, China.
