An Pan is an associate professor and a principal investigator at Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China, and the head of Pioneering Interdiscipline Center (PIC), State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Photonics (www.piclaboratory.com). Pan received his B.E. degree in Electronic Science and Technology from Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST), China in 2014. And he obtained his Ph.D. in optical Engineering at XIOPM, CAS, China in 2020. Meanwhile, Pan was a visiting graduate at Bar-Ilan University, Israel in 2016 and California Institute of Technology (Caltech), USA from 2018 to 2019, respectively.
An Pan focuses on the computational optical imaging and biophotonics area and is among the first to work on Fourier ptychography. He is selected as the 2024 Optica Ambassador and is the winner of the 2021 Forbes China 30 Under 30 List, 2021 Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of CAS, 2020 Special President Award of CAS, 2019 OSA Boris P. Stoicheff Memorial Scholarship, the 1st Place Poster Award of the 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings in Germany (Lindau Scholar), and 2017 SPIE Optics & Photonics Education Scholarship. He has published 40 peer-reviewed journal papers and is a referee for more than 40 peer-reviewed journals. He is the early career member of Optica and SPIE.

2) Apr. 27-29th, 2016, severing as the General Chair, he organized the National Doctoral Academic Forum on Optics & Photonics (XIOPM 2016) in Xi’an, China, which was supported by XIOPM and OSA.
3) Oct. 17-22nd, 2016, serving as the President of OSA Student Chapter, he attended the Student Leadership Conference & FIO Conference in Rochester, USA and won the 2016 Excellence Prize Finalist of OSA Student Chapter, which is the first time of Asian student chapter to win this prize so far.
4) Apr. 24-29th, 2017, severing as the General Chair, he organized the International OSA Network of Students (IONS Xi'an 2017) in Xi’an, China, which was jointly held by CAS, OSA, XIOPM and Najing University, undertaken by the OSA student chapter of XIOPM and Nanjing University and Shaanxi Institute of Advanced Optoelectronic Integrated Circuit Technologies, supported by SPIE, Acta Photonica Sinica and Acta Optica Sinica.
5) Dec. 21st, 2019, severing as the Session Chair, he hosted the Session 1 of the 11th National Photonics West, Xi’an, China.
